Is it worth importing a car to the UAE?

I found a much cheaper imported-spec SUV. Between shipping, customs and resale hit, is importing actually worth it versus buying GCC-spec locally?

For mainstream models it's usually not worth it once you add the resale discount GCC buyers expect. For rare/enthusiast cars the maths can flip. Always model the all-in cost vs the local GCC price.

Don't forget AC and cooling systems on non-GCC cars can struggle in summer. Factor that in.
